Sea Otter 2006 was even better than last year. The weather was sunny 3 out of the 4 days and the recent World Cup Race in South America attracted many foreign elite athletes this year. Gunn Rita dominated the women's field and was a fine competitor to watch. My custom red spoke wheels on my XC race bike turned many heads and was the ice breaker for many conversations in the vendor expo area. I didn't do too bad at the race scene either. I was robbed my top 10 finish in the Short Track race because of faulty timing from the officials. They said the best they could give me was 15 place, oh well. This made me furious at the time and I vowed to make up for it the next day in the 39 mile cross country race. The Semi Pro field was 75 strong and the best in the world were there.
